About Us: The First, the Only, the Best FAQ Hub
- WE’RE BUSYBODIES. We’re in the matchmaking business. And we like being in YOUR business. CafeFAQ connects you to the right tools and guidance to power your FAQ–and everything FAQ-like that your curious users might think up. We were the first to create a hub that focuses solely on the Art of the Question and the Craft of FAQ and we’re feeling kind of good about it.
- WE HAVE A SUGGESTIVE NAME. But we’re so f’in over it.
- WE’RE WORD NERDS AND STAT FREAKS. We have roots in tech and design and we love words and puzzles. And we are foodies. CafeFAQ was started by a former programmer and journalist from San Francisco. We are based mostly in southeastern Ohio and New York City.
- WE’RE CURIOUS GEORGES. We don’t shy away from hard questions. In fact, we beg them. At CafeFAQ, FAQtoids* and FAQs consume us. Some even end up being our faves, like the one below.
Q: Should I jump into a pit of steaming hot lava, writhing snakes, and used metal car parts?
A: DO NOT JUMP INTO PIT.
We’ve Actually Been Around a While
CafeFAQ started out as CafeFAQ Communications in 2009, a tech writing firm. Before that even, we were Teclarity, co-owned with a fellow writer.
SEND us your Best/Worst (really)
Got some crazy questions? Send us your fave BEST or WORST FAQs. Who knows? Your might end up as one of our funky, fascinating FAQtoids. Of course, you could also just write us and say Hey.
WRITE for Us?
While we’re at it, want to write for us? We look for short- and long-form articles on FAQ-related topics, pretty much the nerdier the better. We also appreciate well-written posts on UI/UX design principles, all aspects of communication, and DIY programming. Stay in touch–there are more topics to come.
We do our best to be gender-neutral in our images. Here is the story behind this one.
We do our best to attribute to artists on each page, but sometimes we miss. If we missed YOU or your art, which is quite possible, let us know.

*Q: What is a FAQtoid? Are you being serious? Where can I find more, please (I have some time to kill)?
