Q: What is your breakthrough Tanabata story?

The Japanese Tanabata Festival, also known as the Star Festival, was inspired in part by the Chinese holiday of Qi Xi. During the Festival, participants wish for the betterment of their craftsmanship or skills. Their wish is written on small, colorful strip of paper (tanzaku) and then hung on a bamboo tree.
ILSSA (Impractical Labor in Service of the Speculative Arts) is a group of craftspeople who celebrate their own self-styled Tanabata Festival called The Festival to Plead for Skills each year. Members are invited to practice and hone a craft or skill. A CafeFAQ team member submitted a video for Care + Pace called Yoga in a Hot Minute last year.
